It's stepping back and looking at a piece of art that now exists for the whole world to see where it once resided only within your imagination. That feeling is the work of art we created within The Librarian’s Condo.

Gilpin was a test. We had recently moved to the Virginia Beach area and it was time to see if we could float in the market here.

I was completely enamored by this idea and I felt that real estate specifically was the vehicle that could get me there. Imagine having enough money coming in from rental properties that you can literally pursue whatever dream you want!

Little by little I started picking up real estate books and couldn’t stop educating myself on what I needed to do to invest in our first real estate property.

Instead of living in fear, we are choosing to press on and create beauty in the world when it is so difficult these days to see it. Our goal is to be a reminder that beauty still exists and people are capable of things they themselves can’t always see.

And like the feelings I have for my husband, there are some people and things to which I’m perfectly fine being addicted. 

As long as you’re open to change, meet your goals, check in often, and most importantly, expect you will be very often inevitably and terribly wrong, moving and modifying plans and expectations will become second nature, I promise. 

Our son's room was also decorated with a mini light up tree in the corner. It took me several minutes to notice the Christmas music in the background and no time at all to begin openly weeping in the middle of the living room. 

After looking at several potential deals we had finally settled on what we now call Project Tallmadge. The ink was still drying on the closing documents when Ann, Declan and I pulled into the driveway as proud owners of our first flip.

Some of the most affirming and blessed experiences we have are when the opportunity to use our recently discovered gifts on friends and family comes along.
